Rubber Molding
Custom Rubber Molding
Review a molding route for your part, compound and order requirements. Tooling, dimensional priorities, parting lines and inspection need to be considered together.
01 / Rubber Molding
Compare molding proposals against one specification
Start with the drawing revision, compound, inserts, critical features and order pattern. Compare compression, transfer and injection proposals on the same basis. Confirm the project’s actual route, tooling and production scope with the quotation.
| Route | Project details to review |
|---|---|
| Compression molding | Charge or preform, placement, parting and venting, cure and demolding requirements |
| Transfer molding | Material path, gates and runners, cavity filling, inserts and cure requirements |
| Injection molding | Feeding, residence and flow history, process window, cavities and venting requirements |
02 / Rubber Molding
Specify functional dimensions and the finished surface
Mark functional and appearance zones, parting-line limits, texture references and demolding direction. Agree release-agent or cleaning restrictions and acceptable ejection marks. An M2 reference still needs the applicable standard and edition, controlled features, dimension range and measurement conditions. Include finishing and conditioning in the inspection basis.
03 / Rubber Molding
Investigate different trial concerns separately
Identify the sample, cavity, material lot and process record before changing conditions. Locate the observation and compare like samples. Agree the controlled trial and the evidence needed to judge it.
| Observation | Evidence to collect |
|---|---|
| Incomplete fill | Missing region, flow path, gates and vents, charge, material state and process record |
| Internal voids | Location and shape, section or examination method, sample identity, venting and cure history |
| Flow or weld line | Position, flow fronts, venting, material and cure state, appearance and functional result |
| Tack or scorch | Material storage, residence and temperature history, environment, contamination and comparison samples |
| Mold deposits | Cycle history, residue position, material lot, mold condition and cleaning records |
| Parting mismatch | Location, cavity and alignment, closing conditions, dimensional and flash observations |
04 / Rubber Molding
Keep charge, part weight and material use identifiable
State the compound and required charge or preform information for the trial. Record net part, runner and flash separately when comparing material use. Relate weight differences to density, cavity and process observations; weight alone does not establish fill distribution or sealing function. Temperature excursions, residence and cure changes need the corresponding material and process records, not a generic correction recipe.
05 / Rubber Molding
Plan verification around the functional risk
For each critical feature, connect its function to the possible failure, relevant causes, prevention or detection and the trial that will verify the requirement. Define acceptance before the trial rather than treating a clean-looking part as a complete functional result.
- Identify the function, interface and consequence of a missed requirement.
- Agree the material, tooling or process controls and how the result is measured.
- Record the sample conditions, acceptance decision and remaining actions.
06 / Rubber Molding
Approve the sample and the repeat-production basis
Agree drawing and compound references, tooling revision, samples, inspection plan, records and packaging. RubberQ’s formulation support, mixing, molding, testing and ERP traceability can be discussed as one project. Confirm the requested control and submission scope, change responsibility and production terms before recurring orders.
